About Us

Hi! I’m Melissa, Chief Coding Officer of The Binary Code Shop by Uplighten!

I was in tech for over 13 years, working with start-ups and large companies designing user experiences and interfaces. 

At the end of 2021 I got really sick and my whole family was thrown into survival mode as I was in and out of the hospital.

This experience reshaped how I saw my future and I stepped back and started this company. I am following my passion to make beautiful, meaningful things that bring others joy, yet also incorporate my love of computers and tech.

We are a local small business and we hand make everything in our shop. Part of our proceeds go to support local STEM education in our community.

You can find us every Sunday from October-May at the Farmer's Market at High Street across from Desert Ridge Marketplace in Phoenix, Arizona.

Select styles are also available at local hot spots including Vibe Box Boutique and the Found:re hotel.
